The site is going well.  The navigation bar is finally up.  All the pages are on their way.

10/30/04

Happy Halloween!  The site is itching to go, but I don't have the Front Page JavaScript editor loaded yet.  So, I can't make the other pages without it, because the layout for the website is not done.  As soon as that is loaded, things will speed up.

10/28/04

Updating is gradually going on!  Stay tuned, and definitely keep checking back.

7/30/04

Well lets see... I'm doing a bit of maintenance on the site. Going back and making the navigation bar a bit more user friendly. Change the font size a bit... I think its a little large. Also, I'd like to do some content updates on the care sheet but I don't know if I will get around to it. So, look for a few little changes here and there. :)

Oh, by the way, my email buried some of your emails.... there are a few I never got to, and I'm sorry about that. I'll try to keep myself up to date better :\. College is starting soon... but I'll make time for everyone's questions. :)

6/6/04

I came home from a sleepover today, and when I checked on Xena, I found 12 eggs in her cage. They were infertile, of course, but its good to know that she is ready to lay. However, she still won't eat. I'm going to be away for a while... and I want to get food in her. Well, if she doesn't want to eat, I guess she won't. She's not seeming to lose any weight, so I think she is ok.

12/31/03

Happy new year, all. I hope your holiday season was enjoyable.
Working on the site, and I might redo the morphs and variations section soon. That is the oldest part of my site... it needs a facelift. I'll be fiddling around To get things working. I might even add rollovers to the navigation bar...

10/8/03

Well. I now have only two snakes. My white one, Mickey, escaped about four weeks ago, and I have not seen her since. I miss her very much, but I really think I'm not going to find her again.

Updating my site a little. Making the guestbook page a bit different, and adding a page for pictures of snakes sent to me.

8/7/03

Let me tell you what happened last night... because I now have a new pet. :)

I was in my living room downstairs, looking for something I forgot to take upstairs, when I turned on the light and there, in the middle of the floor, was a treefrog!!! He was quite dehydrated, but still active, so I had a time trying to grab him. But I did, and I ran him under some water, very much against his will. I took him upstairs and pu thim in with my other treefrogs, so he could rehydrate himself in the misty tank.

At first I beleived him to be a gray treefrog, like my others, but after closer examination, my brother pointed out that he is a Bird-Voiced treefrog. I would think they survie well in captivity, being closely related to grays. We will see if he eats.

8/1/03

Well it's about time for a site update. Lets see...

As you can see I'm renovating the look of my site... I hope its easier to look through. I will be modifying the link text and possibly changing the color scheme for my forum and guestbook. I will be synchronizing all the pages so that they look the same. Because of all the changes I've made in the past, there are many leftover formats that need to be removed.

No breeding.... seems like Xena's gender is under question, and Acadia just isn't old enough. I'll keep putting them together for a while. I'll probably not get to it next year because I am going off to college... hopefully near home though.

Being a Senior in High School, I have to do a graduation project. This includes a paper, product, and presentation. I am very excited about it because I have chosen to do my project on the development and expression of the genetic color traits in cornsnakes. Its not due until January, but I have already started on it. When my paper is finished, I will post it on my site as reference material for anyone to use (as a reference only, of course).

3/12/02

I am planning on breeding my snakes this spring! They are already out of their hibernation and I'm just waiting for the first sheds.... *yay*

2/2/02

I have some sad news. My brother's Veiled Chameleon has died from complications with an impaction in his intestines. He had been eating the bark at the bottom of his cage and it clogged him. He died last night.

I am working on renovating my site, adding the toolbar where it needs to go. I hope to get it done today.

12/27/02

Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope the holiday break has been treating everyone well. Not much to update... I'm fixing my site, so its more uniform. Putting the nav bar on all my pages. Wish me luck!!! :)

10/7/02

I have added a few new pages and I am working on fixing up the others. Please read the new pages!

9/3/02

I fixed MANY things, as you can see... I am drawing all of my art, using photos for reference on some. How do you like my navigation bar??? *melts* I think it is so cool....

9/1/02

Wow... I haven't updated in half a year!!! *sigh* School is so time consuming.

Xena got over her non eating spell. It was just a phase; I think she was looking for a mate. She is doing great now.

Ahhh.... The NC Reptile show... I look forward to it so much! I went this weekend and saw Rich Zuchowski (Serpenco) and Bill and Kathy Love (Blue Chameleon Ventures and Corn-Utopia), as well as many more amazing dealers. Both breeders had great stock this year, but Rich did not seem to have many "normals", I wonder why. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and if you have reptile shows near you, I urge you to go to one!!

My site will be going through renovations, content updates, and reformatting. This will be happening very slowly, however, but you should look forward to it.

5/6/02

Well, no chickens... oh well. I have too many pets already :).

The NC Reptile and Exotic Animal Show was this weekend and I got a veiled chameleon! I got a female, and she is very nice. I names her Marie, (my brother's veiled is name Frank... I named her Marie because of Frank and Marie off of Everybody Loves Raymond). She likes to be held. Ok, well I haven't really updated my site, but I am having some feeding problems with Xena.

She has never been a problem feeder, but three weeks ago she refused her food. I am going to take her to the vet an a few weeks if she doesn't eat again. I hope she will get better. There's nothing else wrong with her... She's still normally active. Oh well, I will see what I can do.

1/16/02

I added a new section about finding lost snakes. I hope it helps every one!

1/6/02

Well, first of all I would like to wish every one a belated Happy New Year. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2002.

Just as a little update, not really for any purpose except informational, Acadia shed last week. (yay!..I always get excited when my snakes shed).

Also, as another little funky tidbit of info, I am thinking of getting some polish crested chickens in the summer. They are very pretty, and I have always enjoyed raising chicks. No, we don't live on a farm. No, we live in a relatively urban area. Yes, it sounds 'hillbilly-ish'. ^_^ But I love chickens, they are so fun to watch. (Yes, us reptile people have some funny quirks that I'm sure some scientist would absolutely LOVE to study).

11/13/01

I have added a section that deals with feeding problems. I have been getting so many questions dealing with that, i have decided to put up a page about it. I hope it helps.

10/30/01

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE 'CALLING CARDS' IN THE GUESTBOOK. IN OTHER WORDS, DONT ASK ME TO EMAIL YOU IN THE GUESTBOOKS. I DO NOT CHECK THEM AS OFTEN AS I DO MY EMAIL, AND IT MAY BE THAT I NEVER GET TO ANSWER THEM. IF YOU ASK ME A QUESTION IN THE GUESTBOOKS, IT WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. PLEASE, IN ORDER TO GET YOUR QUESTION ANSWERED, POST IT IN THE FORUM OR EMAIL ME AT the_cornsnake_site@yahoo.com. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

10/13/01

Well, I have finally been able to find time to update my site since 9-11-01. Nothing special, just had to fix a few things.

9/2/01

Check out the new sections under "My Family"!

9/1/10

Well, I went to my local reptile show and when I got there, they said I couldn't bring any pets in, so I ad to leave Xena and Mickey in the car. But I did, however, purchase a new corn! (my weakness!) He is a male anerythristic type... b I think. I'm not sure but he is beautiful. :) I have decided to name him Acadia. Dunno why, I just like the name. Click HERE to see a pic of him!

I still have Mickey; didn't get a chance to trade her in.. I'm gonna give her another try.

Rich Zuchowski (sp?) of SerpenCo was there, and that is where I had gotten Xena from a year ago. He has wonderful stock.

I also was able to ID the real variation for Xena. She was sold as a normal, but now that she is older she looks a lot more like a hypomelanistic. I saw adult (or alsmost adult) corns that looked exactly like her and they were labeled hypomel., so I am re-labeling Xena as a hypomel. It may take me a while to find all the places I mentioned her being a 'normal', so I'll change them eventually.

8/27/01

I re-did my room and now I have all my animals in it! I have a stand with Xena on the top (in front of the window) and the frog tank on the bottom (it has its own light source). Mickey is on a stand right beside Xena's.

I put the poor anole in with the frogs. My brother had to take down his outdoor cage because he needed it for his chameleon. The poor anole was living in a pretzel container for a few weeks, and now I think he is a little happier. He was attacked by Grayboy (one of my frogs) though, but I think he was hungry. I thought that the anole was the one that was going to do the attacking! But anyway, he seems to be doing nicely.

I've decided to name 'the anole' Beryl. It means 'green jewel' in Greek. I think its a nice name, don't you? :)

8/15/01

Please do not use the guestbooks for questions! It is a hassle to have the Names section full of questions. They will not be answered unless they are the forum. Thank you for your cooperation. Oh, I have now labeled the 'Questions?' link 'Forum'.

My snow corn, Mickey is very feisty and I don't think I will be able to keep her. What I am planning on doing is waiting until September and trading her in. She bites at anything that will come into her tank, and she has not yet grown out of the 'stage'. I can not deal with bites and breaking in a feisty snake. This is a rare behavior and I think it is partly due to me not being able to hold her like I was able to do with Xena, so she is not used to hands and movement. School has taken up alot of my extra time. Please, I've tried methods and I'm not changing my mind unless she does, so don't barrage me with emails about solutions. Thanks.

8/1/01

I have started school, and will only be able to acess my email and updates once a week for a while. Be patient with me while I get back into the school grove. In case you're wondering, I'm in high school.

7/15/01

I have added more pictures to the variations section under almost all the headings. Check it out!

Well, I have two more additions to my herp family. They are green anoles and are being kept in the outdoor cage, where the gray treefrogs used to be. They are both males, which is a slight dilemma, because they may fight each other. So I am going to buy a female as soon as possible.

I have decided to keep the gray treefrog that we were rehabilitating. She has a yellowish scar in her nose from where it healed over. I think I am going to name her Little Guy. :)

7/14/01
I have been getting questions in my guestbook, so I have put up a forum. This is for people who do not feel like emailing me, and so the guestbook gets cleared up a little. Please use this function!! Also, if this gets too much for me to handle, then I will remove it, because I have lots of things to do, other than mediate a forum. ;)

7/8/01
Well, the gray treefrogs in the screen cage had to be let go, and we have one recovering in our tank inside with Grayboy and Big Guy. The frogs' noses got very irritated from the screening and out of 5, there was only one serious case, which is being rehabilitated (actually, we're just letting its nose heal^_~). Well, I guess we learned that frogs do not do well around screening....

Also, I have added a place where you can post your cornrnskes' names and ideas for some. Thanks!

7/1/01

Well my brother and I have decided to put treefrogs in our outdoor cage. It is 4x5x6 feet and is made of pipes, screening, and caulk. The door is Velcro©. I hope to get a pic of it in here someday. Anyway, we have two gray treefrogs in it now and they seem to be doing quite well.

6/25/01

Don't mind my remodeling, I'm trying to find a color scheme that I like. I'm sorry if it annoys you :).

6/24/01

Well, my green treefrog, Greenie died sometime last week. I haven't seen her for a while, so I'm suspecting the worst. As it happened, a neighbor girl (knowing I love herps) came over with a newfound friend for me! She gave me another grey treefrog. This one looks like a yearling, because it is so small. I'm still debating on whether or not to keep it, because it is so young.

6/23/01

I got my site added to the General Herp pages and the Snake pages. That's why the rankings may not be there yet or are sorta low. Anyway, my updates page will be moving to a separate page, because this page was getting too cluttered.

6/15/01

Well I got my pictures up and running much faster than I thought I would! All my graphics are back up and in some cases better than ever! Thanks for waiting!!!

6/13/01

NOTICE!!!!:I am highly upset to inform you that my graphics server is shutting down... however, the only page that will be totally disabled is the variations page, and the rest of the site is still running. I am working dilligently to restore my graphics, and this site is my top priority. Look for the graphics to be back within 2 weeks. Thank you for your patience.

6/5/01

Well, my graphics server is down, which stinks. Hopefully it will be up and running very soon!

Also, my snow corn shed for the first time in captivity today! I know it may seem trivial, but hey... I'm a sucker for reptiles. :)

5/21/01

Well, I went to my local reptile expo and ended up getting a snow corn, not an anerythristic, because they weren't selling any. I still want one though! I also got a veiled chameleon for my brother, and its name is Frank (after the Budweiser Commercial ^_^).
